KATZ Canvas Seat Covers is an Australian business with one clear focus — supplying the best-fitting, hardest-wearing canvas seat covers for heavy machinery in the country.
We’ve been doing this for over a decade. In that time we’ve built a catalogue of more than 740 machine-specific seat covers, covering everything from Caterpillar excavators and dozers to JCB telehandlers, Doosan excavators, Bobcat skid steers and everything in between. We’re a small, dedicated team — and that’s deliberate. Every cover we sell is chosen because it fits correctly, built because it lasts, and backed because we stand behind what we supply.
Our Story
KATZ started the way most good businesses do — by noticing a problem nobody was solving properly.
Heavy machinery operators across Australia were settling for generic seat covers that didn’t fit, wore out quickly, or simply weren’t designed for the demanding conditions of real job sites. Purpose-built covers for specific machine models were hard to find, and the few options that existed were expensive or poorly made.
We saw that gap and decided to fill it properly. We set out to build a range of canvas seat covers that were made for specific machines — not adapted from something close — and built from materials that could actually handle what Australian job sites throw at them. More than ten years later, we supply operators, construction companies, civil contractors and mining fleets right across Australia. The catalogue has grown to over 740 machine-specific covers, but the focus hasn’t changed: the right cover, for the right machine, built to last.
Why Canvas?
We get asked this a lot. There are cheaper materials and flashier alternatives — so why canvas?
Because canvas works. It has worked for generations of tradespeople, farmers and operators across Australia, and it keeps working in conditions that destroy other materials.
Heavy-duty canvas breathes in the heat, sheds water in the wet, resists tears and abrasion on rough job sites, and cleans up easily at the end of a long shift. It doesn’t crack in UV the way synthetic materials do, and it doesn’t trap heat the way neoprene can. For operators spending long shifts in the cab of an excavator, dozer or grader, the difference between a good seat cover and a bad one is felt every single day. We chose canvas because it’s the material that delivers — and we’ve never had a reason to change that.
